Frequently Asked Questions For Truck Gaskets
Resolved Question: Truck engine? blown head gasket?
Engine overheating heat dosent work low oil pressure? Ok last year we had the same problem as far as this goes. My heater dosent work as soon as it stopped working truck runs hotter and would over heat eventually if i drove it too far or too hard. Coolent in the back up tanks is very rust and nasty looking. im think it may have close up the thermostat again? so tomorrow im gonna flush the system out and install add new thermostat and gasket for it. Now my oil level is fine it is kind of old probably definatley needs to be changed but not way old would old oil cause a drop in oil pressure and a ticking noise or is it a bigger problem? it only ticks when you try to accellerate and it ticks louder and louder and sputters a lil bit. as soon as it did that i parked it cause i dont want to cause any severe damage until i know whats going on? so im having a over heating problem and oil pressure guage going crazy and acceleration ticking? any ideas? please? No white smoke ok i changed the oil..pressure is fine now..changed therostat its not longer ove rheating after i changed it and flushed the system..there is still alot of white smoke coming out of exhaust but only until it gets to normal temp down the road? my heater still dosent work i disconnected the hose that goes to heater core and there is no water pumping to it? only steam and air comes out? water is pumping threw radiator and rest of system cuz engine stays cool? am i losing water befor eit gets there maybe? blown head gasket maybe? if it is it has to be very minor cause runs smooth and everything and no milky oil and no overhetaing anymore?

Resolved Question: Head Gasket? Coolant in the Cylinders?
Truck: 2001 Ford Ranger 3.0 L V6 Beginning problem: had low compression on 4, 5, and 6. might of been gasket blown or piston rings or exhaust or fuel intake. tried to take it apart the first time and didn't succeed. started putting it back together. Middle problem: drove on it and started getting lots of bubbles in the antifreeze resevoir and started over flowing. also started shooting white smoke out of the engine somewhere. took it back to the garage and started ripping it apart again the right way. got the plastic head cover off and it had some yellow gel like substance on it. took the head off and the gasket was fine, the exhaust and fuel intake was uncracked. but i found coolant in the cylinders. End Problem: what do i do? does the head need worked on? i plan to replace the gaskets and resurface everything but is there a specific problem that im missing?

Resolved Question: Can you determine if an engine block is cracked without disassembly? or can you tell if it is just a gasket?
I'm doubting what a local mechanic told a friend of mine about his truck. The truck was running rough when cold, and had some steam coming from the exhaust. There is no doubt there is a problem. What bothers me is that the mechanic didn't say "it could be a warped head, or leaking head gasket, or a cracked block." He just said "it's a cracked block". Is there a for sure way to determine which one of these it is WITHOUT disassembly? I'm going to buy the truck from him and fix it for myself regardless, but obviously the cheaper the better. I'll buy a salavage engine if need be. Or change a gasket. But I'd love to save that tear down time if possible (and again save the money!)

Resolved Question: I had a transmission service but did not pay for a rear servo gasket and rear bush seal. Its still leaking.?
Should i have paid the extra 170 for these extras??? An approved NRMA outlet
